10/28/24 - Update On My Husband

Went to see my husband yesterday. They moved him to a room by himself! I was really surprised. He is in the room next to the room that he was in before. He was in good spirits; and we had a nice visit. Talked about buying a battery for the other car and buying a washer and dryer and selling the car. He really hates most of the food there; but he eats as much as he can to keep up his strength. He said that when he was in Cleveland Clinic they took 2 X-rays of that shoulder that is bothering him; and they saw nothing. We are going to have to pursue this because he has lost at least half of his use of that arm. Thank you for your continued prayers, support and thoughts. Photo Credit: Pixabay

Glad that he now has a room of his own. No more disturbances. Yes, have to deal with his shoulder problem.

I am so glad to hear he is in a room by himself. It’s hard to rest when you have a screamer for a roommate! If you call and ask, I think you can make an appointment with a doctor for his arm and they will take him there and back. You could meet him there and be in on the appointment.

@LindaOHio He would probably go there via ambulance for safety’s sake and just get wheeled inside.

I’m glad he is pushing through not liking the food, but eating it anyway. Like he said, keeping up his strength is imperative.

Glad he was able to get a room to himself. At least that should help to solve one issue. I'd get that battery. I think being able to be mobile right now might be very helpful to you, especially considering it may allow you to visit with him more often if you can get there yourself.

I could get there myself; but I'd need someone to push me in a wheelchair. I can't walk as far as his room is.

@porwest I don't know if I could lift the chair in and out of the car..it's around 50#; and I know I don't have the strength to roll myself a large distance and maneuver in and out of the doors, etc.

Maybe it's just arthritis. Or a bit of muscle atrophy.

It's good he has his own room. It's bad enough being confined to bed without having annoying companions.

Happy about him shifting to a new room..His shoulder needs a good diagnosis and treatment. I hope that he gets it soon. Good that he is eating up to keep up with his strength. You can always get him his favourites when you visit him.

He is his own roommate, yes! It is great he eats as much as he can; that was my rule too when i was at hospital for 3 days. It is essential to live I see, so they at least did xrays. hm, is that a muscle thing or other xrays are needed well, don't give up yet and hold on

Having a quiet room so he can rest may help him improve more. If his shoulder injury is not bone, I bet they will need to do an MRI or CT scan to find the damage.

Wow, you don’t expect the Cleveland Clinic to miss something. That’s a “big name” in health care. Glad he was in good spirits AND in a quiet room. Now if he’s mad at his roommate he has only himself to blame.
