The Ex Ended Up Getting it All

It is the time of year that I am thinking about decorations. Years ago my grandmother gave me her Christmas decorations. One that we had used for years at her house. There were glass ones that were painted candy canes and such. Very pretty and delicate. There were some long strands of colorful strings. Old and delicate. And the balls of course. Sparkling in different shapes. I loved them all for their beauty and delicacy. But, when I went to leave my ex and was packing things up I forgot that these were in his parent's old barn. I had hunted and hunted and couldn't find them. It wasn't until several years later that I realized where they were. So, now every year I think about them and fondly recall them and how much I enjoyed them while I had them. I have a nice memory. No, I wouldn't go back to my ex-in-laws to retrieve them. What a nasty can of worms that would have opened. Picture is from hobbylobby.com

I'm sorry that happened. I lost ornaments from my German Grandma when our Idaho cabin burnt.

The topic...and my head says "Now that's the juicy one :P " Read the post, must be sad, Christmas is one of the important time of the year. and of course you wouldn't retrieve them, some people are better kept at distance. Yes, you can always cherish the memories. Maybe hopeful, but i hope you get better decorations, looks and sentimental value wise :) May you make new and better memories with new ones and so forth :)

That's a shame, he probably didn't even want them. But after all, in the end they are only 'things'; you still have the good memories.
