All dry fruits are not tasty

Atleast that is what I feel. A friend dropped by and brought me this rather expensive looking box of dry fruits. I eagerly opened the box and was not happy to see what it contained - almonds, pistachios, walnuts and cashewnuts. My favourite dry fruits are apricots, figs, cashewnuts and peanuts. I will no doubt consume them all but only hoped my friend asked me what kind of dry fruits are my favourite. Before bringing gifts it is better such or a suitable quesion is asked.

@allknowing I am sure that in this case there is a difference from Italian and English. Fruits are fruits and nuts are nuts, fresh or dried.

That's too bad you don't like the nuts. Could you grind some and sprinkle them over rice for protein? Put them into a smoothy drink?

I might use the walnuts to make my favourite dates and walnut cake and ofcourse c ashewnuts are ok to eat and also to add them in some snacks. I will give away pistachio as most come salted. Almonds I will eat just because they provide nutrition.

I wouldn't count nuts as dried fruits. But I love nuts of all sorts so I would be happy to receive those. And they are good for you. If you are not keen to eat them as they are then you can add them to all sorts of dishes like cakes or stir-fries. Or mix with some butter and honey or syrup and your choice of spices and roast, they will be irresistible!

The information that is provided about the goodness of dry fruits makes one want to eat them. When I did not like dark chocolate which I now do then someone here said that I was not sophisticated as only the sophisticated like the dark chocolate. Hope you are not going to say that only the sophisticated like almonds

Well, they never asked but gifted the dry nuts collection. Sometimes we get gifts which may not be what we wished for. But then anything given in good spirit needs to be appreciated and reciprocated ( which I am sure you will do ). Dry nuts are good . I recollect you mentioning your love for chocolates/ice creams a while ago. Guess you could use these nuts and try out few recipes. Almond milk is yummy , dry nuts along with ice cream of fruit salad or even simply munching once in a while. One of these days , you can get/buy dry fruits. No worries there. Happy Diwali to you and family!
