Good Morning 10/31 Happy Halloween!

It is the start of the Holiday season- Halloween leading to Thanksgiving (in the US) and Christmas! I have a comment/ thought about Halloween. I was thinking yesterday that it had been since my freshman year in high school, in the mid-1980s, that I had worn a costume either for any reason or Halloween. That was the year I joined my school's clown troupe. It was not my best time but I did enjoy going around to area Catholic grade schools, performing anti-drug and alcohol skits, and try to convince the grade schoolers that if they are going to a private Catholic high school our school is the one to go to. we really were a super school! When was the last time you wore a costume for Halloween or any other time?

I have not got the chance since we do not celebrate that here years ago but when I had my kids, malls and other establishments started having trick-or-treats so we brought my kids there.

That is an excellent idea to take kids to the malls. I like it because the kids are safer. I grew up petrified somebody would do something bad to the candy. Now that I think of it I don't know why I ate all that candy I was so afraid of Hope you have a Happy Halloween even if you don't take kids someplace to get candy!

Thanksgiving is always in November. This year it is celebrated on November 28. That is when we get the turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pies! It is a great holiday (not so good if one is on a diet

The last I wore a real costume was when I was about 6, I think. I used to wear as a costume, a jumpsuit. My mother made me throw it away a few years ago. As I told you earlier, I wear now a rust colored dress which I bought to replace that jumpsuit. I was going to buy another jumpsuit, but I don't know what size that one was. My grandmother bought the jumpsuit for me when I was in the seventh grade. I was in band and we had to wear dresses at the concerts. I had my period when we had that concert so my grandmother thought a jumpsuit would be better.

I am sorry you had to throw away your jumpsuit. what instrument did you play in the band? i don't think my school had a band because I went to a private Catholic school and I assume they didn't have the funding, or it could be we didn't have enough students who wanted to be in a band or it could have been we didn't have a football team at the time. Currently, they do. but my school did offer music lessons

Halloween wasn't celebrated here when I was a child so I've never dressed up for it.

@LovesEverybody That was a good idea of the dentist. Halloween is quite big here now as is Valentine's Day. That's another one that wasn't celebrated when I was young.

@JudyEv Do any dentists trade candy for gifts? do adults have costume parties or is it mostly a children's holiday? I am showing my entrepreneur side here and telling You seriously should go to become a dentist to make tons of money with so many people eating candy on Halloween, and all those chocolates on Valentine's Day

does Australia celebrate currently? when I was a child Halloween was a major thing. I remember one year my aunt gave candy to kids and that year a local dentist gave kids a small gift in trading for their bag of candy. The goal was to not have kids eat sugar. I don't remember if my aunt told all the kids the name of the dentist. It was a good idea that the dentist had!
