Friends, I woke up happy. Instead of watching news (they talk over and over again about thpressing subjects) I stayed in a channel called ArtTV. And there the most incredibly show was going on. There was a concert in which the musicians played music from Antonio Vivaldi (one of my best loved composers of classic music). But as Vivaldi was born in Venice (1678) the prople who are presenting the several pieces are using masks of the king they use in Venice diring the carnival. At my age I know I won´t go to Venice again. Besides I went to Venice before you just couldn´t walk on the streets as it is so full of tourists. I was at the Plaza looking at the Duomo with only the pigeons walking by. So this is a very special treat for me. The musicians are all dressed formally with the women in long black dresses and the men with cravattes. I confess that I prefer this. I´ll mylot more later. After the concert is finished. I only came in the middle of two pieces. See you

We love Vivaldi too. We enjoyed our trip to Venice a few years ago. We'll never go again either.

That sounds like a great concert to enjoy and I agree that news is depressing. It's especially depressing here with our election coming up next week.

art always puts me in a good/calm mood i listen to classical music often, i spent good part of my life in that field. Vivaldi is not my favorite composer, but he did write some masterpieces i also have this "family tradition" on 1st January - we watch The Vienna New Year's Concert on tv. if you haven't seen it yet, you should definitely give it a try in a few months i haven't been to Venice (yet), but i've heard that it's still packed with tourists enjoy the rest of the concert
