It's a black night, no moon night. It's a day of worship of the goddess Kali ( literally black goddess). Her physical complexion is black and she sticks her tongue out. She is receiving the blood falling from the demon's body on her tongue. She did this to stop new demons rising from the drops of blood. It's also the night of the festival of light. Our children have lit little candles and earthen lamps all over the house. I pray that the goddess might eliminate the modern day demons and that the true light might fill our state and country ! P.S.: Deepawali will be celebrated tomorrow in other parts of India.

India has some very interesting traditions. The children would enjoy lighting the candles.
