I know the idea of a Halloween parade sounds strange to many people but it is an annual thing in this area. It is a big deal and supposedly it is the biggest Halloween parade in the country. My parents used to take us every year as kids. I haven’t been in many years. It is usually cold and it goes on past my usual bedtime for a work night.
Some towns have trick or treat on the 30th so children can both do that and attend the parade. The town I live in does not so the kids will be out this afternoon and evening. I live on the 3rd floor so most people don’t bother going all the way up there. I actually haven’t bought any candy to hand out since I moved there 5 years ago.
Will you be greeting trick-or-treaters today?

An annual Halloween parade sounds like fun and it's nice that your town tries to accommodate the parade and trick or treating for the kids.
Our time frame for trick or treating is between 6-8pm which makes it nice since the doorbell isn't ringing all afternoon and into the evening.

No kids bothered coming into our village although I saw plenty going past the front. I didn't have any candy so it's a good thing they didn't find their way to our door.
