Why can’t things ever go smoothly?

I originally scheduled an appointment to replace the gas meter at my mom’s house for November 1st. I even received a confirmation email from the gas company.
Speaking to a rep online Tuesday I was told there was no appointment for November 1st and it was actually October 31st.
This makes no sense to me but ok. Them coming earlier is better. Except that no one came or called to say they are on their way.
The November 1st appointment had a window of 8am - 1pm. I assumed the same would apply today. But it’s already past 1pm and no one showed up. I wonder if they will come later in the day or if the appointment will indeed be November 1st. Or perhaps no one will come tomorrow either.

Could be a computer error. We had an erlier appoitment which we took for the va. A couple days later the orginal was still in the system. it happens.

Good thing my mom works from home. I told her maybe they will come tomorrow like they originally said.

@lovebuglena That's a good thing she had no prior plans. Otherwise you'd have to meet them, LOL.

@kaylachan and then I have to be by the phone when they call that they are on their way. I’ll have to hold off showering lol 'cause they can call while I am in the shower.

I hate it when that happens. Which I have happen when I am making appointments for the kids sometimes. I always say the info back to be sure we are on the same page.

That’s the thing to do. I confirmed the November 1st appointment when I made it. And the email confirms it too. Either the guy I spoke with this week made a mistake or something else is going on. They better come tomorrow.

It is very old. They need to install a new meter that can be read remotely.

@anya12adwi remote readings should be actual after a new meter is installed. We should see no estimate readings anymore, which would mean no more overpaying.

I called. They don’t know what’s going on with the appointment for November 1st. Don’t see it in the system. Lady I spoke with scheduled a new appointment for Monday. She was supposed to do more investigating to see if anyone would be coming today or not and call me back. She hasn’t so far.

Don't you have any proof or any ticket or receipt of the said appointment? maybe you can give it to them so they will prioritize you this time.

for other things you have to get done & can't cause
you have to wait on them

My mom works from home. If she didn’t and had to take off work for this it would have been an issue. I hope they come tomorrow.
