I have been dealing with a difficult relationship with a student along with her frustration and anger about not succeeding in class since September. In terms of the inter-personal relationship things have improved but her test grades haven't all that much. Mom is furious and wants a different teacher as if the structure of the cell changes from classroom to classroom.
She called the guidance counselor today furious that her daughter failed today's test and demanding a new teacher. The counselor said that we all have to have a conference first and the mom was like "fine I will be there at 10". HAHAHAHA I'm available for conferences from 7:15am until 8am. The counselor told her that and she said "that is too early".
A conference also requires 24 hours prior notice to the teacher. I will not meet this mother without a supervisor or principal in there with me. I might even bring in a building rep for good measure. Next week is a short and crazy week so she isn't getting her conference until at least the 2nd week of November.
I don't even get stressed about this stuff any longer. Say what you want about me. I have 23 years of experience and I will totally destroy all parent BS complaints and dance on their ashes. (of the complaints)

It is obvious she is another parent who does not check out her child's homework which I think parents should do every day to see how the kids are progressing, Beat of luck to you with the conferences,

Sounds like you're dealing with one of those entitled parents who think things should be handed to them or their children.
