Sagada is one place I would love to always get back too. Other than the weather, I love the small community vibes, the nature areas to explore, the friendly locals, and their traditions. The Fire Festival is actually not a festival but a tradition called 'Panag-apoy' which means to light a fire. This tradition is still being practice every November 1st. Instead of lighting candles for their loved ones buried at the Calvary Hills Cemetery, they light pine wood saplings on top of the tombs every afternoon. So when the sun sets in, it actually looks more like hell on earth . I did not personally witness this as I went there December, March or April. Do you have such unique traditions?

Nope. It's the first time I've ever heard of it. I wouldn't stay at night in the cemetery unless it's nov. 1

But the cemetery in Sagada is along the road and just walking distance from everywhere since it is a little town

Sagada is a great place. A small town with good people. They even have a curfew at night there

@Shivram59 for safety reason. Tourist can get lost in the middle of forests and may not be able to get back. There are caves there reachable by foot and it can be slippery.

We don't have anything as crazy, some people light candles but not everyone does. Most bring flowers. Yeah, that sight in the photo is very spooky, I love it!

Yes, they are still practicing it up to today. Good that they maintain their tradition as well
