No one showed up

No one showed up to change the gas meter at my mom’s house today. I called the gas company to find out what’s going on and if someone will still show up. The lady I spoke with checked things on her end and said that instead of a meter change the appointment was made to replace the meter battery. It also said October 31st and not November 1st. That is crewed up because the appointment confirmation email said November 1st / Meter Change.
The lady went ahead and scheduled a new appointment for Monday to change the meter. In the meantime she was going to look into the November 1st appointment issue and see if anyone will still show up. She said she was going to call me back in half an hour. That never happened. And I didn’t receive an appointment confirmation email for Monday. It better be in the system. I want this insanity over with.

It is messed up for sure. And they have yet to issue a corrected bill for the bill I complained about. The guy came to look at the meter October 4th but the bill shows a reading for October 2nd and it’s an estimate, which of course is way over the actual reading of October 4th. No way is my mom paying that. I gave them the actual reading and they should do a corrected bill but I’m still waiting. But because the bill is due November 4th I bet they will charge a late fee for not paying.

It sure is. I’m not confident that they will come Monday as no email confirmation. But then again I had one for November 1 and no one came.

Yes. Only one in NYC. You can choose different suppliers but it’s delivered by only one company.

@lovebuglena Sounds like the power here in FLorida. Depeinding on where you live in Florida it's either Duke Energy, or FLorida Power and light. We get enough sunshine around here, so solar is becoming a more conpeative option for many. But, as far as grid power, you have no real choice. I feel bad for your mom dealing with it. Why does she need it in the first place?

@kaylachan the gas account is in my name so I’m the one actually dealing with it. You can’t not have gas as the stove and dryer are gas and so is the central heat.

I do not blame you for being upset with your troubles with the gas company not showing up to check on your mom's house.

It’s definitely upsetting. Maybe I will try and call them again to see if my appointment is indeed in the system. Not sure if customer service is available during the weekend.

Sounds exactly like Kinetic/Windstream and Lowe's/Angi that I went through. So frustrating. Hope someone shows up on Monday. Have a good weekend.

They better but I have a feeling they may not. No confirmation email.

@LindaOHio I called customer service, even though they are not available on weekends, hoping the automated system will be able to confirm the Monday appointment. When I said “review appointment” instead of the system confirming my appointment it said it will connect me to someone and then said no one is available.
