I Thought This Might be a Fun Subject to Discuss

I never was very fond of peanut butter or PB & J sandwiches. But lately I have begin to enjoy them more. I like a stout bread, either white or wheat. I don't mind biscuits used. But the jelly has to be raspberry, blackberry or grape. I don't like strawberry, orange marmalade or other flavors. How about yourself? Do like it and if so do you have preferences?

I love a good strawberry jam. We had lemon curd with our gingerbread cake last night. Yum.

I like it with just about any jelly or jam. Honey is even better. My first husband liked mixing peanut butter with apple butter.

I'm all for any of those jams/jellies. But funny my kids don't care for grape, orange or apricot marmalades.

Kids are funny that way. I just think some jellies or jams are good in the sandwich and many are better by themselves.

@much2say ........I think of it as jelly. Jam to me is mushy.

@celticeagle I think of cranberry sauce . . . it's essentially a jam/jelly but I never thought of it as that!

As for bread, my favorite is the black Russian bread in round loaves that I used to get at the farmer's market in Philadelphia and I've never seen it anywhere else. I'm not sure but I think it was a rye bread.

Yes, rye bread would make a good PB&J. I like the tastier rich breads. Multi-grain and such.

That is cool that you learned about it here. Have you tried other nut butters?

I, too, am not very fond of peanut butter or PB & J sandwiches. The only jelly I really like is strawberry. But grape will do in a pinch.

Pineapple preserves sound very good. I don't know if I would choose them for this sandwich though.
