World's Biggest Donor

We have seen millionaires and billionaires donating huge amounts of money for the cause of the society. Some people even cut the country-lines and have global donations. When we see such people, we can easily say that the world is still a great place to be. The faith in good people and goodness is restored.
But I wonder who the world's biggest donor is. I have read a few names, though it's not possible to determine who would top this list.
Any idea MyLotters, who has donated the largest amount so far for the cause of human race.

@anya12adwi I never mentioned just India, neither in my discussion title, nor in the discussion details. I have used the word "world's" biggest donor. This means it can cut country lines. No physical limitations to it.
And talking about the Tatas, they had their business spread in 70 countries across the world.
