TGIFridays has filed for bankruptcy. So many restaurant chains can't make it these days. Did you turn your clocks back? Breakfast - PB&J sandwich Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans Dessert/Snack - Chocolate chip muffin Dinner - PB&J sandwich What did you eat yesterday? I remember TGI Friday, I never understood why it was so popular. I think that many restaurant chains are closing due to high inflation, rising food costs, and higher wages that are squeezing profit margins. People now want more quality if they decide to eat out.

@LindaOHio - We had excellent meals at Ruby Tuesday in Atlanta and a bad meal in Tallahassee. We had a horrible meal at a Red Lobster in Kissimmee.

I have to tell you, I ate at TGIFriday’s once. I haven’t found myself hungry enough to eat there again. I came to Chuy’s for lunch because I’ll have to miss coming here at least two days next week for the car being in the shop, so chicken taco for lunch and the other one for dinner. The green chile rice helps my sinuses as much as the salsa! Oh, and more fruit cocktail and yogurt and fiber bars!

I have somehow never been to a TGI Fridays. Yesterday, I had chicken and rice, vegan jerky, two Mexi Melts from Taco Bell, and two pears.

@LovesEverybody I've only been to one TGIFridays; and that was on a vacation in Florida. Many, many years ago.

@LindaOHio I went to only one too. I am not sure where it was. It was in my area but I wasn't familiar with the specific area. The Texas Road House was right across the river from me. but it was in the back of stores and I never knew there was one there!

@ambiepambie My sister bought some pears at Walmart yesterday. She was thinking about baking with them. She said they would sit out until Christmas. I remember my grandmother had a pear tree and had pears on the kitchen windowsill most of the year. I don't want to be rude to TGI Friday and i am sure it is good to many people but I went once and it wasn't my proverbial cup of tea. if the one around me stays open I won't go back. i couldn't finish my whole meal. i ate half

I heard of one restaurant after another closing down around my area. Also, got an email today about 750 closures of banks across the country. I checked and mine is still going strong. I didn't have to change the time on any of my clocks. They all do it automatically.

We had several TGI Fridays restaurants. They all closed before the pandemic. The food and service were severely lacking, even then.

@LindaOHio That doesn't bother me a lot, unless it's really bad. I've been to TGI Fridays off and on over the years when friends or family wanted to go there. I have never thought their food and service were ever good.

@LindaOHio I had the roll left over for breakfast today! I didn't have the butter they brought to the table though. we were going to shop for the afternoon so the butter at the table would have melted. my sister had her insulted bag in her car but it could have gotten messy if the butter melted because it was sunny yesterday

We had one close to us. Food was pretty good. Then it closed and a Mexican place opened in its place. Didn’t last long.

My foods? No. I get Meals on Wheels for lunch from the Council on Aging. The rest of the food is from the grocery store.

One word. Inflation. It's killing everyone, including businesses. They can't keep passing along the higher costs of doing business, which is why suggesting price gouging is a thing is ridiculous. Therefore, they have no other choice than to restructure or even close doors. It's sad where we have allowed ourselves to get to and may be willing to allow for more pain ahead on November 5th. From porous borders to crime through the roof, to high energy bills and food bills, to credit card debt reaching the trillions with people just struggling to survive... We cannot, with good conscience, allow this to continue. But we DO deserve every bit of pain and misery we vote for. End of rant. As for my dinner, we finished up the batch of steak chili I made.
