I think different things according to if they are bipolar I or Bipolar II. Most of all I think, that sucks, and I hope you have supportive people in your life because that is a difficult disease. However, I know people with bipolar who are thriving.

What do you think of each? Definitely need a good support system to keep this disorder in check. I'm blessed that I have an amazing husband who has never left my side. (Well other than when we were teens and I ghosted him for awhile.)

@fivecandles Well, staying on the medication is a must for either one, but bipolar 1, to me, especially because they deal with mania more often would make me more concerned, if concerned is the right word. Because we know the things mania may (doesn’t mean they will) cause a person to do. Bipolar 2 deals more with the depressive side, and I would worry about their bad days more. Did you know you can be bipolar 2 and never have a minute of a manic episode? I didn’t know that for a very long time.
Both are difficult in so many ways, but at least bipolar 2 deals with mania less. Either way, it does not mean a bipolar person is weird or should be treated oddly. It’s a medical condition that has to be dealt with just like asthma or MS. With the right treatment people with bipolar can be just as happy as the next person. We just can’t give up or let our loved ones give up. I am THRILLED you have a supportive husband. Too many people have no one.
These are just my observations, and personal experiences.
