We accidentally went to Cracker Barrel

The plan was to go to Dillons, in Newton, after church this morning. It is just a mile or two straight down the road. I think Bob got a rain cloud in his brain, because he turned off to the interstate, telling me it would get us there without being disrupted by trains. He was actually thinking of the route to WalMart. We still could have done it, but he did not take that turn either, he kept going. I kept my mouth shut. He drove past all the Newton exits. I asked him where he was going. . . he said Cracker Barrel. This is not really that far out for him. We were talking about how fun it is when it is rainy to go to a restaurant with a fireplace, like Cracker Barrel, only yesterday afternoon. Bob's poor old brain just took him on down the road, the interstate, until we got there. Just a little outside of Wichita.I had a mental flash that was where his brain was focused so I laughed. The place was packed. We could not even see the fireplace to see if it was lit. It was a good meal, not much more costly than Arby's on Friday. Still too costly to do all the time, though. He then took me to the El Dorado Dillons, because he said it was quicker. Bob is napping, and I have put the groceries away. Not without some casualties, but that is another story.

We sometimes joke about the car being on autopilot and not turning off where it should. You just have to go with the flow sometimes.

I can relate to having brain cramps from time to time since for some strange reason, I thought the clocks inside the home were to be moved forward instead of backwards until I remembered the slogan "Fall back and spring forward.\

I'm glad you had a good meal and got to go to Dillons. Bob sounds like my husband, although he may never drive again. Have a good week.

I am the one who does that to my husband. I tell him to drive somewhere and than I change my mind and we go somewhere else.
