I did.
But I was not about to click that. So I Googled it to find out why.
And it seems there is no reason. 
In fact, if you click the ad, it never ends up explaining why you should do it.
It will show you plenty of alleged 'life hacks', but the toilet seat hack is never explained.
Because it is only stated to make you click the ad.

I wouldn't do it anyway even if there was a decent reason to do it. It just seems counterintuitive.

I've seen that too. There are some really odd ones too that have very obviously been photo-shopped.

Yep. I once did that to find out why you should put foil on a doorknob. Never did find out. Have a good week.

I put wooly mitts on my doorknobs... they get too cold otherwise.
