Weather Update: Oklahoma

A lot of you have been very kind to pray for my state (Oklahoma) and me due to the last 48 hours of tornado weather. Five touched down yesterday, early morning, and this morning my television blared a tornado warning. However, I didn’t hear the sirens which meant it was not in my part of the county. I turned on the weather, and the warnings were all over the place, but not my part of the city. It is 7:12am now, and there are officially no more tornado warnings. Round two is over, but round 3 (the final round) is this afternoon. Schools have been canceled, which is the right thing to do. Have you ever tried to protect a school full of children from a tornado? It’s hard. So, if you could remember us this afternoon and say a prayer, we’d appreciate it. The destruction has been large, but thankfully, no one has died (to my knowledge). Injuries, yes, but fatalities, no. By the way, in Oklahoma’s panhandle, it’s actually snowing! They aren’t worried about a tornado! Photo from News9 in Oklahoma

I just had someone in my other discussion say I shouldn’t worry because all it could do is maybe take power lines down. Obviously, someone one who does not live in this country.

Thank you, Marilyn, I will. There seems to be a lull, and it may have moved past my city. I think it’s heading towards my sister.

Such damage seen in this picture, how very sad. I am praying for you and those in your area. I did not realize that you got snow, but I think that would be the lesser of the 2 evils. I hope and pray that your area will make it through this next storm unscathed, you all deserve a break. As soon as these storms pass, you will need to make a list for your survival kit and replenish what you've exhausted.

The snow was far away from me, but it still felt weird to me to think of people I know wearing a coat because it is cold there, but me wearing a coat to avoid flying glass here. Thankfully, it is all past us now. It is looking clear, and it feel good to breathe easier. Thank you for praying.

@AmbiePam And don't forget your state's Saint Toby is looking down on you all too. I still have a hard time believing that he is no longer with us.

Well, glad to hear you are doing well . There are no major casualties which is good. I never knew there was a round 2 and even a round 3 when you mentioned on the tornado warning! Hope the power is back and your parents are all fine. And food supplies would cover you for next few days as well I hope. And then there is US election and well that could be interesting. Perhaps one reason why people are more worried on the election than tornadoes. Hopefully in the afternoon , things would still be fine. Prayers for all from Oklahoma. Take care.

I saw some of the pictures and video footage...terrible destruction. We get tornadoes here as you now, but Oklahoma always seems to get the lion's share of them, and the worst ones. I am glad that there are no known fatalities, given by what I have seen on the news, that's amazing. Take good care to be safe, Amber.
