Short story: Love must come alive in the fullness of life, as it cannot do so, in the emptiness of life's shadow

A young man, John Jones, was an avid tennis fan, but he always preferred to watch, rather than to play the game himself.
His father took him aside one day, and he said to him:
"Life is not just about watching it, but about participating in it, more actively too."
"I would like you to get more involved, and either play tennis yourself too, or you can become, perhaps, a tennis umpire."
The son listened to his father, and he studied the rules of the game, and he became an umpire. He worked his way up, until one day, he umpired a grand slam tournament, in his home town, and his father was justly proud of him then too.
We need to be active participants in life, not just followers of it.
Love is what God creates life with, and life is not life unless it has love in it, as otherwise it remains inert material only, and not alive to itself, nor to anything else either.
Life comes from love, and life exists as long as love remains in it.
A dead person's body has no love in it, but his soul does, and so life continues in the soul for that person, and not as an extension of their soul, their body mind vehicle anymore.
That said, though, an inactive person is allowing their love to be poured into an empty dead vessel, when it will always do its most good, allowed to be actively alive, in a moving aliveness.

John found something that he could enjoy actively, not just as a spectator.
Love does not spectate; it must do its thing actively alive within someone.
Become alive to the love in you.

Yes, we need to get into the fullness of life, rather than just staying in its shadows. Life is here to be enjoyed as much as we can do so.
