What have you got under your bed?

Wynne Evans, on his BBC Radio Wales programme this morning, was asking the question, What do you have under your bed? So I decided to ask you the same question. Under my bed, I have some of those box file things. In them I have some Doctor Who magazines, mainly Special Editions. Another thing that I have under my bed is a Doctor Who time capsule. It's just a rectangular box with some treasures in! It's a Fourth Doctor time capsule (played on screen by Tom Baker.) In it is an action figure of the Fourth Doctor, just after he's regenerated so he's still got the Third Doctor's costume on. Also in the box is an interview CD with Tom Baker, an audio drama CD and a DVD of one of the Fourth Doctor's stories. I think it's Terror of the Zygons but I might be wrong. I'll have to check. It also has a novel, and some art cards. It has a 3D viewer thing. You put it over the words on the front of the CDs and DVD and it shows you what it is. There's also a letter from Tom Baker, as the Doctor. So that's what's under my bed. What's under yours?

I have an adjustable bed so I don't want to put anything under it because there some wires.

Ah, I see. That would be very cluttered! My Grandma Brown had an electric blanket. I think the only thing under my bed at my Grandma Brown's house was a potty!

@LovesEverybody Oh, no. I understand that. Oh, no. That's not good. I hope you can find a remote control that works.

@sharonelton Actually it is only a few wires but I am afraid to have them around my clutter. Right now something was wrong with the remote control and my sister sent for a new one and it came and ended up not being compatible with my bed. My sister crawled under it to get different numbers to send to the company. Now we are waiting for them to to tell us what their next step is. there has to be a remote control that works!

Interesting. I have my bed on a platform so no place to put stuff. I have a big closet where I store things.

It's good to know you are neat and tidy and you have a place to put things. Wynne Evans said that under his bed he's got some Christmas presents that he's already got, and a pair of curtains in one of those vacuum pack bag things because his son wanted blinds in his bedroom, and Wynne said he wasn't going to get rid of the curtains because they were "blooming expensive!"

@celticeagle Yeah, it would be - if you could fit under there! Who would you be hiding from?

We have a double sort of mattress so there is no room for anything under it, except for dust bunnies. They take very little room!

@sharonelton I have to admit I don't bother to try to vacuum under the bed but we can move it with a bit of effort.

@JudyEv Hmmm. It's probably best you do. It could be a harbourer of germs - and spiders!

Do you have to lift the mattress, or move the bed to hoover, or can you get the hoover nozzle under the bed so you don't have to move anything? The things you ask on a Wednesday morning!

For me , nothing is there under my bed. I used to keep a few bags under my bed earlier but now not keeping anything under the bed. Want to clear and clean. I like a decluttered place especially near my bed. My bed does not have storage space and well so nothing there as well. I keep most of the things in wardrobe . It is easier for me to find there. After seeing this discussion, I am thinking of ways to better utilize the space underneath the bed. I will think about same and see if i can do something on that. Good to know whats under your bed. Have a great day ahead!

Wow, the 4th Doctor? That's what I call a time capsule! I think it was like in the 80s, so that's a while ago. Well, this discussion comes at the right time as I'm decluttering the space where monsters lie, i.e. under the bed. It's a storage bed so I'm actually dealing with the storage now, no room for much else underneath. There are a bunch of shoe boxes I'm rearranging or getting rid of, as most seem to be empty. Then I found stuff I didn't know I had, and a bit of trash that managed to get there somehow.

He started as the Doctor in the 70s, and ended in 1980 or 81, something like that. I can sympathise with you on the decluttering. It's a big job isn't it? I've also found things I'd forgotten I had when decluttering. Yesterday I sorted out some earring making stuff and put them in my storage box. Then in the place where I'd taken them from on the bookshelves I put my art books. Afterwards I had a few aches and pains from lugging stuff around! Good luck with your decluttering, and I hope you have a nice day.

@sharonelton Oh, even earlier than the 80s then, thanks for the info. Earring making stuff, sounds fun! Will you make earrings anytime soon? Yes, decluttering can take a lot of time, effort, and lots of thinking too! That's why I've given myself months to do it, one step at a time.

@somewitch My pleasure. Yes, he was the Doctor for about 7 years. I enjoyed making earrings, apart from when it didn't go my way! I will make earrings again but I don't know when. I'd like to be able to find someone to buy them. I tried on Facebook but I only managed to sell 2 pairs to the same person in America, and that was it. Yes, one step at a time is the best way. Especially when you give yourself aches and pains doing it like I did on Monday when I did just that little bit!

I understand your pain. Apart from the other things I mentioned, there is a load of dust under my bed too!
