Maybe you can start in while your at work. Start small, test it first if you will sell out.

It is always a good idea to go into business for yourself if you can. However, you're right. Business can be unpredictable. Especially if it is new. You can't rely on past results to determine what future results will look like, so what I would do is do both until you are certain the business can be successful going forward. Your job is a pillow to fall back on if something goes wrong until you can determine the business can actually sustain itself.

@prexie Your answer right there tells me you are not ready. If you have no ideas and you don't know how and where to start, how do you expect to be successful? You need to have a business plan and a mission statement. You should be clear on what it is you want to achieve and have a plan to execute it before you start anything. That's business 101. No one starts a business and becomes successful at it without at least a very well thought out plan. Even with that it doesn't guarantee success. But no one became successful without one. I wish you all the best and am not meaning to discourage you. I am simply telling you the truth.

Try it without quitting your job, try to find someone you can trust to manage business when you are at work. Business is important because savings will not last and also our body is not getting younger to hold a job forever.

Why don't you try and do both? Then if your business takes off and becomes successful, then you can think about quitting your job and concentrating on your business. Think about something that you enjoy doing and do that.

Well you have to think about your decision very carefully. If you have enough funds to start your business then you must think of a product that you have knowledge about and your alternate plan just in case your proposed business wobt work for you. Office jobs come and go but our skills needs advancement sometimes. When you start your own business you have your time on your own, no boss around and can start and stop at your own time.

If you can do both. Why not. I think when I get back to the Philippines. I am planning to continue with my businesses and at the same time I will continue my passion in teaching English.

Find what you're good at and make a business out of it. People don't just need goods, but services too.

Business is a good idea. you will be your own boss, However, do not quit the job immediately. I suggest you first start the business and employ someone to run for you. When you are confident it is stable, you can then quit your job and concentrate on your business.

if you choose this, you are your own boss which is a good thing but also a curse. maybe try selling aside, to see how it feels?

I would suggest to continue your work and start yours business in part time mode. If your business picks well and earns more than double your salary plus for an estimated on year forward you could earn that money , then yes you could quit your job and focus only on business. There are many costs involved in business and worse the projections in paper is not what happens in reality. Plus , business takes time to flourish and getting customers is another herculean challenge. So till that time , you should not be without money. Plus focus on business where you have a solid idea and interest. Good luck!
