Stock Market is Soaring

It's not even 730am as I write this, but last night some stock market futures were suggesting an 800 point run up on the 30-stock Dow Jones Industrial Average, and this morning in premarket trading, all areas of the market are surging dramaticallly. The Dow is up 1300+ points. The Russel is up 6%. The S&P 500 is up nearly 3%. And it's not really all that much of a surprise. Trump was always leading on the economy throughout his campaign, and most polling clearly demonstrated that Trump was most trusted to handle the economy. The Trump win, which we can now easily call, and the stock market performance following the news of his victory, is a clear indicator that investors believe the economy will perform significantly better under Trump than it would have under Harris. It's just one more win to chalk up.

I have no clue why you would think that. Have you not been paying attention to what we have been living under with Biden and Harris? Does Chile not get the news? Or does it just get fake news?

No. In fact they will probably go down after Trump is in office for a while. As the economy improves and inflation is drawn back, the Fed will reduce rates further, driving down CD rates as well. But this is GOOD for the economy. Not bad.

@porwest maybe I should act now and open a CD. Capital One has it for 4.5% for I think 11 months. Unless that’s over already.

I don't understand stock market. But I'm glad that it's working for you and many traders and investors since Trump's come-back to the Presidency. It's gonna get better and 72+ million Americans are very confidently sure of it. President Trump's cabinet-picks are awesome. Elon-Vivek team, Hegseth, Gabbard, Gaetz, RFK Jr... And yes, the new Border Czar, Tom Homan! :-)
