Success perhaps can be defined as achieving the clear goals by putting hardwork and smart work into action despite various setbacks. Success needs one to stay motivated despite challenges. Success is different for everyone. For some it could be wealth, for others fame and the list can go on.
Which can been a more contributing factor to your success – was it the mistakes committed or steady progress?
Steady progress has built confidence for most. Small or big wins motivates you and helps you to ignore obstacles and challenges and move forward. Mistakes on other hand helps to pinpoint the weakness and gives us an opportunity to reshape ourselves.
For me personally, mistakes have laid the foundation of some of my success stories. I failed the PMP (Project management professional) exam at first. I felt completely down and my confidence went downhill. It took me time but then I realized the way I prepared was incorrect and I did not learn the chapters well. The next time, I was better prepared, lot of hardwork was put in .There were days I would sleep at 3 am in morning as I needed to work and study. In my next attempt, I passed in flying colours.
So, what do you feel - What has contributed more to your success: making mistakes or steady progress?

Greetings to have cleared PMP.
I had a similar case of failing an Oracle Certification exam.
The qualifying was 45 and I scored 44 !
Oh it was a shocking miss.
Nevertheless, I prepared methodically and hard.
I then passed three exams in almost an year.
I think both steady progress and mistakes have helped.
As such I have lots to achieve still.
Best way is to keep moving forward, learning from both success and failure.

i believe that it's important to learn from our mistakes and not let the mistakes discourage us from trying again - and reaching our final goal
steady progress is a good thing, but that's not how things usually go. every process has its ups and downs

I guess they both contribute, but I'd probably give up if all I did was to fail and never see progress.
So I'll go for steady progress, because that helps with motivation which is key, at least for me.
