Progress with gas account

I logged on to my mom’s gas account online. It no longer says to pay $129.02 that I never paid because of the estimate reading issue. Instead, I see a credit of $246.29. Won’t know exactly why the credit amount is this much until a new bill arrives. I’m glad I waited and never paid that bill.
The gas meter has been replaced finally. When it was installed the reading was 0000. Not sure how that would factor into the new bill, especially since I didn’t pay the previous bill which was for Aug 5 - Oct 2 billing cycle. I hope there won’t be any issues with the new bill. But can’t know for sure till it arrives, which will be in about a month.
Now I’m left wondering what the bill amount will be for the new bill and for what range of time…

Thanks. Will see what happens with the next bill. It may not be issue free.

Me too. This whole estimates issue has been going on since June, if not earlier, where we’ve clearly been overcharged. I contact them, there’s a credit or a corrected bill and then it happens again and I have to contact them again.

Yay! You donot have to pay! Credit of 250 dollars means you received it?

No. It’s just a credit on the account. When they do the next bill whatever the bill amount will be (for the current minus previous reading) they will deduct the credit amount from that amount.

I'm glad the meter has been replaced and maybe this problem will be over. Have a good weekend.
