"What happens at Grandma's house, stays at Grandma's house."
The problem is A.J. (Alison Jane) Cadell can't remember Grandma or her house.
Dreaming of becoming a best-selling romance novelist, Alison is invited to Beech Grove, British Columbia, to be a Writer-in-Residence and reside at Thistlewood Manor for a month. When a resident of the manor is found dead, Alison is drawn into a mystery involving a grandmother she doesn't remember, a father she thought was long dead, and a handsome firefighter who could be the link to solving the mystery.
Will someone be after her next?

Diane Bator has been a long time friend and a member of our writing group. I have read every single one of her books. I have to say with this most recent book her writing gets better and better. She is a great storyteller and writes some very quirky characters.
A.J. Cadell is a romance writer but gets herself caught up in some family history drama. She doesn't remember her childhood. A strange benefactor invites her to be a writer in residence across the country where, it turns out, she spent her early years as a child. The first thing she learns that the father she thought was long dead, is not. She learns of lots of mysteries in the family but no one, absolutely NO ONE will give her answers. Every time she asks questions people tell her to stick to writing romances. So this romance writer has to turn detective to find out what her real history is.
I really enjoyed this read and I can't wait for the next book in the series. I hope you all will support my friend and give this book a read.
Note: This was the second prompt from my movie musicals TBR jar. I chose Climb Every Mountain from The Sound of Music with the prompt being a book with mountains on the cover.
