The second American revolution?

With the win of Donald Trump for President of the United States, I see some similarities to our first American revolution. These last four years have hurt so many Americans through inflation, an illegal invasion across our southern border, crime that has turned our cities into war zones, and destroying basic parental rights. This election result was the product of the awakening of Americans who just want our country back. Common sense. That's all we want. Don't give my child gender reassignment surgery without my consent. Don't let convicted criminals into our country, but lock up our citizens for using their constitutional rights. Don't charge me $5 for a dozen eggs, then brag on film about your $5,000 refrigerator. Don't threaten to take my guns when you have full-time armed bodyguards. Don't take every mention of God out of this country, then expect God to continue to bless us. I really see this as our second American revolution. Our politicians will never be perfect, no matter which party is in power. But we all need to take a breath and be thankful for maybe, finally some common sense from our government.

I believe it exists, in some degree, in all of us.

@1creekgirl Sure looks like it. Trump hasn't offically taken office yet and things are looking ready to erupt into world war three. And, I'm talking Mylot. To say nothing about the media had a field day with the results.

@kaylachan I refuse to get into an argument with any myLoter. Sometimes just ignoring them makes the most sense.

I hope you never have a female relative that needs basic female health care. I hope some day you read a book on basic economics and realize that doing the blame game is not viable.

Economics is interesting. I only took one Economics class in college, though. My Caclulus classes may have helped me almost as much as my Economics class when it comes to understanding economics

Would you want a convicted criminal to be president of the United States?

A lot of former presidents were criminals, just didn't get convicted.

@1creekgirl Nixon resigned in disgrace. But he was not convicted of anything. Which presidents are you thinking of, and what did they do?

Just a note. The $5 eggs are because millions of chickens have been slaughtered due to Avian flu. They are now finding that the flu has spread to swine. Have a good weekend.

@1creekgirl I hope it doesn't spread and require slaughtering of a lot of pigs.

Eggs doubled in price BEFORE this. I am not disputing Avian flu didn't have an impact on prices but using it to dismiss her underlying point about the impacts of inflation is disingenuous. Just saying.

I love freedom! I love America and its constitution. I LOVE the 2nd amendment and 1776 is my favorite year.

Do you think Democracy, and the Constitution, will be preserved?

@TheHorse I do. I believe the incoming leadership loves America and our constitutional freedoms. They do need to remember, though, that we are not a democracy, but a constitutional republic.

Very...well...said, and I concur 100%. We are headed for better days, even if there are some who will never believe it even if it hits them square in the face. Onward and upward. The bullet missed for a reason.
