Pizza Night

Thursdays I get off from work 30 minutes earlier because on Mondays (ugh) I work an additional 30 minutes.
It is a nice time for me to relax or run errands or book appointments.
Today was a little of relaxing and errands.
I ran out to get a few things from the grocery store, and decided that I should top up the gas tank, which was another stop, and then on my way home I thought that I should stop at the Asian Supermarket and pick up some spring rolls for the freezer.
And hour and some later, I got back home again.
And then I asked myself-did I even relax after work today?
Supper on Thursday nights has always been pizza. We have been doing this since we had our son. Prior to that we used to go out for supper together.
In a little while I will place the order for our pizza. And it is always the same, pepperoni and ham on all of it and half with mushrooms. What's on your pizza?

My pizza changes a lot. But often pepperoni, ham, bacon and sausage.

It varies, I don't have a standard order. I have a pizza in the freezer. I will probably have it on Sunday. Yours sounds good.

Glad you enjoyed your pizza. I usually just have pepperoni and mostly frozen pizzas but when I could afford to order a pizza I like everything on it except for anchovies and pineapple,

During the pandemic we began eating homemade flatbread pizza. It was a nice change, I would use different toppings and we really enjoyed that. Now that things are returning to normal, I enjoy not having to cook on that one evening. And we both enjoy a traditional pizza.

@Dreamerby Hawaiian pizza, which has ham and pineapple was actually created in Chatham, Ontario at a restaurant that I have eaten at hundreds of times.

I vary from time to time but the last one had turkey sausage, chicken, black olives, tomatoes and mushrooms. YUM! Have a good weekend.

@LindaOHio They are good. Such big girls all potty trained now.
Time really flies, no trace really of being babies, except for when they cry and reach out to you to be held.

That sounds yummy, Julia! The last pizza I had was Mexican pizza from the grocery store freezer. Cheddar cheese instead of mozzarella, a little zing in the sauce, with sprinkled tortilla chips on top. It’s very good. The sausage was a little spicy, but not enough to make me regret trying it.

family traditions like that are soo precious
when i was little, i had judo practices every tuesday and thursday - and thursdays would be pizza night in our family + there was a funny show only on thursdays so we would watch it with pizza.
when i was in college - it was pizza night whenever i'd come home to visit my family.
it's such a nice way to connect with each other and spend time together (and enjoy the food)

We make pizzas at home. We always make several to be frozen to have on hand. My son likes pepperoni but I don’t care for it very much. We generally make half-and-half pizzas. His half is usually pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, and green peppers. My half is often cut-up grilled chicken, mushrooms, and onions and green peppers. We change it up at times, depending on what we have. And of course we have mozzarella cheese on the top!

We load the pizzas up with whatever we are putting on them, and freeze them. We have discovered that it's a lot less mess if we put the cheese on right before we bake them. But we've never had a problem, the vegetables are just fine and just like if they were fresh. If you make them to freeze, just wrap them well.
I have some very small pizza pans as well as large ones. They are the size of a ''personal pan'' pizza some restaurants sell. We often make those to freeze, as it's so handy for if one person is hungry but the others are not! Or if you are alone, etc. it's handy.

I mostly have Veg Pizzas. I mostly have them from Dominos or Pizza hut . Unlike your thursdays , I have those mostly on fridays or saturdays. And not on all weekends. Probably once in 3 months. I love the thin crunchy crust than the regular ones. I have been a big lover of jalapenos and olives. I usually get to relax on fridays and feel like a king when you have two days away from office. And all that feeling disappears by Sunday evening and by Monday , it is all Monday blues. With my online adventures I d not usually get time even on weekends these days . Have a great weekend !
