28% of Americans support Trump. 72% oppose him or don't care enough about anyone to vote.

And that is how Trump won. Not by a 'revolution'. By apathy. Not enough people care who is in charge. Or what they are doing. This references the 100,000,000 eligible Americans who are not registered to vote and the 21,000,000 who are registered but chose not to vote in this election. And I know some people are going to say that Trump's supporters are 'much higher' than 28% but they are not. It's never much more than that for any elected President. America does not care. We never do until after something happens. Enjoy your 'win'; if the country survives, the pendulum will swing back the other way again...and again...and again. Because truthfully America simply does not give a s****.

That’s never going to change. When he won in 2016 the turnout was similar. It was only after four years of him that people turned out in larger numbers to ditch him. And you know how the memory of the population is. There are a lot of problems, and voter apathy is one. You could put “vote yourself a million dollars” on the ballot and half the country still wouldn’t vote. I think the bigger problem is that, as AP said, the Democrats have no leadership to speak of. They also had no substantial platform. Truthfully, I blame Biden, mainly for admitting that he was pompous enough to believe he was the “only one” who could beat Poopy Pants (he said that last December, that he was only running for reelection because of T). If they had worked on getting fresh faces in the race instead of more or less throwing Harris into the lions’ den a hundred days before the election this probably wouldn’t have happened. Instead, she was forced to run on a platform of “I'm not him,” and that has never been a good strategy in a presidential campaign.

Voting is compulsory here; otherwise I'm sure thousands would not bother. Only when things go really wrong do people start to care. Let's hope, in America's case, that if things go wrong, it won't be too late for change.

@TheHorse Exactly but it's getting a bit of a worry. It seems anything could happen.

I know some people who do not vote. Funny, they are the loudest ones to complain when they don't like the results of an election. 'Murica is in turmoil, and I don't see that improving.

It's incredible to me how many Americans are "uninformed."

@TheHorse Or they never watch the news because it upsets them. I do want to know what's going on...I think that's important for all of us.

In my native country and here where I live when 30% of those entitled to vote, go vote, it is considered a "good number". People do not care, but later they complain.

What a sad state of affairs. I am simply astonished that so many women, children of women, husbands of women, and family members of women voted for Trump and that Project 2025 nightmare.

Those figures are shocking. I know several people who never vote. If I know several, add those all together country-wide; and there are your figures. Sad. Have a good weekend.
