I've been fighting it out with scammers for the last month... more...?
But while I've gotten a lot for Constance, I just had a new one!
"May I speak to Mr. Chips?"
"Who?" Because I was sure I had miss heard that.
"Cheps?"
I don't know, I'd never heard the name before, I'm 100% sure I'm not spelling that right.
"Curtis?" he asked.
"No. There has been no man in this house for the last 41 years."
Okay, Viv's nephew lived with us for about 3 months, before he turned 18...
I don't know. Am I going to start getting calls for this jerk now?
He was sorry, asked if I had any property I wanted to sell and signed off. At least he was nice.

Could be an old recycled number. I've gotten calls for people after having my number for ten plus years.

@ElicBxn I've gotten calls from people who've skipped bail. Amscot called me half a dozen times trying to collect a debt. Even when I answered and told them that person no longer had that number. People can be relentless. Plus, scammers and other companies can get old phone numbers from data leaks and the information as old as dirt. They're just looking at the name attached to the number, not how old it was.

@kaylachan when my wife got her first cell phone, basically the cheapest thing, she was getting collection calls for somebody. Then she got a call that really wasn't a collection call. She called them back and told them she didn't have the phone anymore. Since the collection calls were from a dentist's office it turned out, by telling the dentist office the number wasn't any good any more, they stopped.

Whenever someone asked to speak to my husband or even "the man of the house" I'd tell them there was no such animal, and hang up. Of course, now that I have a cell phone, I don't get unsolicited calls any more... some for the previous owner of the number, but even that has stopped. All I get are texts for him and I'm not sure how to block those.

@BarBaraPrz yeah, Viv had some issues with hers and I just never had a phone like that anyway so I really was no use.
