Do people purposefully eat plain ‘ol chocolate bars?

Do people eat/use a pure chocolate bar for anything but s’mores (Graham cracker, marshmallow, chocolate)? I was watching a sports show (shocker), and the hosts got into a weird argument of the best candy bars. They all agreed the plain Hershey chocolate bar was at the bottom because the only time one ate it is with s’mores (or if that is all you were given). And I realized they were right. I have never eaten an only chocolate bar unless I was getting ready to put that square of chocolate on that roasted marshmallow. And, is it on the bottom of the candy bar list? They called it an insult to candy bars.

I do not eat many chocolate bars. When I do reach for one it is usually a Coffee Crisp bar, I find the chocolate from Hersey's to be a bit on the bitter side for my pallet.

Is there a popular chocolate in Canada? I can name a lot of chocolate brands, but Hershey’s has almost been the most popular. I think because it is more affordable than the others brands sold here.

@AmbiePam They trade with England, and alot of the chocolate bars there are those sold in the UK. Most American brands are available though as well, to the best of my recollection. I haven't been to Canada for several years now, since they are started requiring a passport, and mine is expired.

@AmbiePam Favorite brands vary here, I know alot of people like Lindt chocolate, myself included. But I do not go out of my way to eat it and so I rarely pay attention to what others are eating. I know that there is a PC Decadent brand that my daughter-in-law loves.

I only eat dark chocolate and PLAIN, so yes, it's a good chocolate bar, but it must be very good quality, I only buy Lindt or Cailler.

When I have dark chocolate (and eating any chocolate for me is rare), it’s always plain. I never see dark chocolate with any other options.

I have bought plain Dove chocolate bars. I am not knocking s'mores, but I can enjoy chocolate with out making them. I need to tell a funny s'more story sometime.

I don't see the point of eating a plain old Hershey bar..but if it was some kind of premium chocolate bar I would eat it. Also, the Hershey bar with almonds is good. I would eat those and even buy one if I was in the mood.

A Hershey’s bar with almonds is good. And, for me, it’s good for portion control. I’d only eat a little at a time since so much would be plain chocolate. And like you said, I’d have to be in the mood.

I eat "plain" ol' chocolate bars--particularly if it's "plain ol'" dark chocolate!

I never see dark chocolate sold any way but plain. Maybe I’ve seen it with almonds, come to think of it.

I guess the only time I eat a Hershey's bar is with almonds in it. But home made fudge is still my favorite candy.

With so many candy bar choices I'm not surprised that the plain old Hershey bar is at the bottom. But, I do like Hershey special dark bar occasionally

I have sometimes gotten almost 100% dark chocolate with nothing else in it! It's not sweet nor creamy . . . but you know, for health benefits you get used to it. And you only need and want a little teeny piece of it. Compared to that, a plain Hershey's is still way sweeter.

We buy plain chocolate bars occasionally but more often it's a block of plain chocolate as it's cheaper. I try not to buy them at all but that doesn't always work. lol

I love plain dark chocolate. When I have a plain bar I like to break off one square a day and have it for a treat. Yum!
