I like the idea of how an acronym for the Transit Authority of Central Kentucky (TACK) inspired officials of the transit company in Elizabethtown to ask for funds from the Federal government to refurbish their headquarters.
Glenn Tarney who is the CEO and executive director of TACK mentioned that some funds were earmarked for signage so he started to research companies that would do the work of building a giant tack outside of the building.
Glenn and three of his employees decided to build their own giant tack after seeing a You Tube video that when it was finished the pin was 21 feet tall and seven inches and weighed 3,000 pounds.
Officials with the Guiness Book of World Records confirmed that the giant tack was in the record book on Tuesday October 22.
