I had to bring a banana smoothie to my bedroom. A rant.

Just when I was starting to take my computer to the dining room, Dixie called. She hadn´t answered my call yesterday but I thought that her prayer meeting had been late. But no, she had also gone to see one of Humberto´s cousins who is with terminal cancer. Humberto did not go with her. He went with some chums for dinner. Dixie told me that she had a lot to do because they were going asailing for 2 weeks. I had pleaded Humberto and I had pleaded her not to go. If Humberto wanted to go, I could go to Dixie´s and stay there. But Dixie said that if she said no, Humberto would not go either so she was going. I´m angry at him. Dixie is still walking with a cane. She is still with therapy and comes back yelling with pain. And any sailor knows that being aboard a sail boat is different than standing where the earth does not move. Worse still, they are going to the south of Chile where the Ocean is not "Pacific" at all. And on top of that, Humberto is a doctor. So it is not ignorance. I can´t do anything. They will go. And Dixie will come back ready to start again with therapy from the begining. Next week I´ll go to Dixie´s ( she had some goat´s cheese for me) and I´ll also go to the doctor to see if I can have some tests done. But I will not touch the subject. I´m sure that she´ll be filling suitcases and Humberto will be playing chess in his computer. I should call the Me Too movement for women´s abuse. I had a friend once that was very much into politics and cared very much about woman´s rights. Sometimes she confessed to me that she felt that some women did not deserve her work. I agreed. Dixie is brilliant in some ways but she pampers Humberto as if he was a baby.
