I woke up today that we, human beings, are not very intelligent.
We think we care about the planet, but to care about anything you have to think about it first.
I have in my closet a beautiful and light silver fox coat that my father gave to my mom over 30 years ago.
When he bought it, those garments were elegant and we did not ask ourselves where did they come from. Although, now that I think about it, those foxes must have been bred in captivity because they did not show any signs of bullets or the like. The coat could help me use less of the energy of the world, but I can´t wear it because it is not "politically correct" to do so. If I go out with it, I worry that I might be stoned.
In my country many years ago some entrepreneurs brought some animals with which they hoped to become rich. We now have beavers and boars which are not native of this part of the world.
The people discovered soon that the enterprise was not as good as they thought and they turned the animals loose. And they began to happily reproduce in our land.
Now beavers are a menace to the beautiful forest in our south and boar not only worry the land but also the people.
I´m sure that if we killed them we coul use their skin and meat. BUT it is not "politically correct". And here we are. The beaver and boar destroying native forests and life (boar eat everything they have at hand) and I´m sure that we could even save human lives if we fed them with boar (I imagine that they taste like pork).
These are my sad thoughts of the morning. I´m writing to forget that last night my favorite soccer club lost and we missed being champions by just one goal.
I just had breakfast. See you later.

@marguicha - I would not dare to wear a fur now here in Switzerland, you risk to have red paint thrown on you, because you are a killer.

@marguicha - You know how people can be dumb. No more than one week ago they threw red pain to a woman wearing a fur and it was a FAKE fur!!!

The US has many invasive species too; and they are a terrible burden on our ecosystems. Something must be done. I hope you have a good week.

The native species should be protected and there should even be a way to kill the species that come from other places.

@LindaOHio They should. There are some fish that have taken over rivers in the northern part of the world.

My mother had a lovely wool coat. Not sure where the wool came from but it was a pretty black coat. Now it gives me a weird feeling but when I was a kid it was quite impressive.

We have many non native animals here too. And they do damage things. Boar is basically wild pig if it's like the ones here. To me there is nothing wrong with eliminating what doesn't belong

The boar was brought here from Europe. And here it does a lot of damage to the native life. Worse still are the beavers. And if gaught, they would make awesome coats for people who are cold. And I bed that their meat could be turned into something useful.

@marguicha The boar is probably the same basically.

@wolfgirl569 Beavers have destroyed milenial forests here. We did not have beavers here until maybe 200 years ago.

Political correctness differs from people to people. If you ask the farmers , they would say kill the boars and beavers as they are taking away their livelihood. If we ask the animal lovers , then it could be exact opposite. We could debate on who is right and who is not. However, I believe nature has its own funny ways to correct things. When an animal population grows, there would be predators or challenges to tackle that population. It happens for all species including humans. Well, I could understand seeing the football club you love losing and sentiments around it. Gone through those many a time. Take care!

The problem with the boar and the beaver here is that they are alien species. And they are decimating native animals

Feral hogs are a problem in parts of the US as well. Not just the little island pigs but big boars and sows. In some parts of Texas people are allowed to kill them any way they choose.

My team is always among the best in my country. In this team played a long time ago my late husband.

I'm sorry about your team losing. It's criminal how animals can just be let free if they're not wanted any more. The muntjak deer is now a menace in England because a small number escaped from their enclosure. And Australia's outback is almost overrun with camels and donkeys where were just let loose when trucks became a better means of transport.

And there are no laws that let them be killed and maybe used in a good way.
