You need this after enduring Webb Pierce. This is one that a lot of people seem to love, and I certainly do. It’s definitely a top 20 song if I had to put these in that kind of order. Here’s today’s “total opposite of the country song” tune. Sister Golden Hair - America Hey, both of these songs were #1 at least! Gerry Beckley said this was inspired by Jackson Browne’s music. If you think about it, you can hear Browne’s inspiration in this. (If they’d used Browne for an inspiration a little more, that “Horse With No Name” would have HAD a name! ) This is a song that will transport me back to that house we lived in on Oleander Avenue in Daytona Beach. That’s where I first heard it, and the happiness of this song combined with the joyous innocence of living near the beach (and across the street from my best friend) is simply magical.
