What Items Are Going Up in Price with Trumps Tariffs?

Here is a list of areas where prices will probably be going up due to the tariffs Trump wants to put into force: Businesses are going to see the crunch with all the new tariffs. With the prices of parts and such many may struggle to stay competitive. This will mean layoffs and reduced hiring. Electronics. The companies that make tablets, phones and other such devices always rely on the manufacturing of components and getting them internationally. With the tariffs Trump imposes the prices will go up so companies will be charging us more on these items. Major appliance prices will likely go up for the same reason. Clothing and footwear. This industry is particularly sensitive to international tariffs. Furniture prices will go up. Sticker shock on automobiles especially luxury vehicles. This includes leasing costs and monthly payments on financed vehicles. Higher prices on renewable energy will be seen. Home owners who are interested in solar power may have to pay much more or delay plans. Steel products have already gone up by 25%. Those prices will go up even more. Aluminum prices will see a rise. Use in windows, doors, siding, even cans contain aluminum components. And, yes, food prices will go up by 5-15%. Manufacturing and agricultural equipment prices all go up with the tariffs. I would like to see things like this go down, by an unrealistic ammount, but I know that's not possible no matter who's in charge. As you've mentioned, we rely way to much on overseas companies to mass-produce a lot of the products we use. That's a fact. But, that's our country doesn't run sweat shops. Hopefully, priceses won't be affected nearly as bad, as it first appears on paper.

Inflation already happened, so prices coming down significantly probably won't happen. All we can hope for is better median income to get wages to catch up to all of the massive inflation Biden caused.

Inflation was 1.4% when Trump left office. It shot up 35% under Biden. It cannot get worse than that. Be real. lol

I was listening to this radio program on this topic earlier. Yep - all of this and more are only going to go UP. We already know things were going in that direction, but with this tariff thing, the kicker is it's only going to get WORSE.

@celticeagle It gives me a good reason to halt some of my shopping habits . We have to make the best of what is to come . . . yet problem solve at the same time.

You are worried about rising prices NOW? Perhaps you missed that when Trump left office inflation was 1.4% and shot up over 35% cumulatively during Biden's terms. Biden didn't have tariffs and prices went through the roof. Folks, you can't make this stuff up. You really can't. lol
