Been Busy Doing a Whole Lot of Nothing

Happy Tuesday Everyone! Brrrr it's a chilly morning here in my little corner of the myLot world. But, it's a sunny day with gorgeous blue skies and big fluffy white clouds. The other day I wrote about my house phone and how I want to get rid of it but two people keep me from doing it. But, this morning it rang and woke me up with a call that was probably a scam. It showed that it was from some sort of credit place and since I don't owe anyone any money I figured it was bogus. This pretty much has tipped the scales in favor of calling the phone company and cancelling the house phone. I was pretty annoyed that they called so early and then I couldn't fall back asleep. At least I was able to have coffee with my daughter before she had to start work and now I'm having my second cup and chatting here. I've been out of the reading mode for way too long so yesterday I went through my books and picked one. Can't beat a James Patterson book to grab your attention and I actually was happy to have a good story to get lost in. With the cold weather not too far away I can easily get back into curling up with a good book. Tonight we're having ham steaks with mashed potatoes and turnips. Easy dinner which is right up my alley. Can't say there's much going on. How's things with you?

I hope he's okay. Worrying and waiting to hear is stressful.

@Marilynda1225 He is, but his BP was 180 over something. I told him he needs to call his doc. He should be down here in Friday. I bought him some bottles of water to drink as he is always drinking sugar free beverages .not the best!

Coffee makes up for everything (well almost ). Enjoy reading - it's always nice to go back to the things we love that we took a break from (I know breaks aren't necessarily a choice sometimes - life just gets too busy!). Dinner sounds great - what do you do with the turnips? Feels like a Monday today . Your post is my last for this hour . . . I've got things to do - "maybe" I'll come back later!

@Marilynda1225 Frozen turnips - interesting - didn't realize that existed! I only started eating them recently (my mom never served them) - just fresh slices - as they said it was good for skin and eyes - you're right, they are hard to cut!

Coffee does make up for everything The turnips come frozen and are already cooked. I just microwave them The brand is Southland here and they are really good. I've never cooked fresh turnips but my mom and aunt always did and I remember them being hard to cut.

@much2say look in your frozen food section. The ones I buy are already cooked and just need a few minutes in the microwave. Here we can also buy frozen cubes but you still have to cook them. I love turnips

You are in a reading mode and I am in a rearranging and autumn cleaning mode lately. I always go through this prior to hauling out the Christmas decorations, which won't be for another month, but...... Your supper sounds delicious, ours is in the oven. I am baking a little black forest ham, it will make for a nice supper and nice wraps for the rest of the week.

@Marilynda1225 Out of respect, I always take down the layers and layers of autumn decorations that I have up just before Remembrance Day. With putting things away I see the Christmas stuff and look forward to putting it up next month. My husband started me on a new Christmas village last year. He got me 2 pieces and I didn't take them out of the boxes yet, so am looking forward to seeing them and figuring out where to placer them.

@Juliaacv My oldest daughter has a Christmas village which she started a piece at a time when she first got married. She has a fireplace in her living room and she puts it on the mantle. It looks so festive Hope you figure out where to put yours. Those Christmas villages are nice at add to year after year.

I love black forest ham. Our dinners are similar. I haven't even thought about dragging out the Christmas decorations yet. I think I'm in denial that it's so close. All this warm weather has really confused me

That’s going to be so nice for you not to have to worry about the spam calls anymore. I love how smartphones can weed them out and hang up on them before the second ring. Your dinner sounds so good!

Sounds like a nice morning. I don't read anymore. I used to love to read but I can't stay focused on it anymore. Your meal plan sounds good. I used to enjoy pork steaks cooked til they nearly burned( I love the crispiness) and with a baked potato.
