Wanted to help, but couldn't

I got my usg done today because I will be visiting a gynecologist soon for my PCOS. So, my dad went with me. While returning back, we stopped at a sweet shop. Dad got down to buy some sweets. An old woman was selling papad. She came to me and asked me if I wanted to buy some. I didn't have any money with me at that moment. I did not come with a bag because dad brought his wallet. She looked really tired and desolate. And then all of a sudden she asked me "Are you okay? Are you sick?" I don't know why she asked that. But that made me more emotional and I was about to tell her that I don't have a purse with me right now when our driver told her the same that my dad had gone out so there's no money to buy her stuff. She nodded her head and crossed the road. I watched as she walked away. I felt doleful that I couldn't help her. Shortly, dad came back and we got home. I just wanted to write this because I was feeling sad and somewhat guilty that I couldn't help her. Have you ever been in a situation where you wanted to help someone but couldn't?

You have PCOS? So do I. Please mention to your doctor you have been feeling down and have had mood swings. You no doubt know how PCOS can cause depression, and sometimes they can do the simplest things to help us combat it. You’re a smart lady anyway so you probably already know that.

Don't be sad. God already designate people tht will her that day. And I think you met her that day for a different purpose... Maybe God is tellin you that He is giving you the gift to help others and that you have to dream an plan things on how you can help in the future. I hope you don't dwell on that emotion anymore, but think positively. God bless.

reading this made me sad too i also got a thing where i can't help but want to help to old people that are selling something. even as a kid, i would always cry when my mom would turn them down and say "no thanks, we already have that". i often feel that way when i see people who seem to be struggling with doing something. but i always feel like i would offend them if i was like "do you need help with that?" because maybe they want to do it themselves, to be independent.

Yeah. I was like this as a child too. Infact, I am like this even today. Whenever I see an old person selling something in the subway or local transport, I buy that. I once made a blunder by doing so. I bought napthalene balls from the subway seller (another old lady) and they ruined some of my mom's sarees and she was so angry at me!

yes, sometimes you can only pray for them. I think that is already a big help to them
