I haven't used the instant pot for ages, but it is really great for making bean soup as it softens the beans in about 20 minutes. Something that takes hours or overnight if you are soaking them. This device isn't a true instapot brand though it is a nuwave. This is what I got for Christmas one year when I asked for the instapot..it is good but it doesn't have all the features of the real instapot which is disappointing. I always thought I might sell this one,and buy a true instapot, but I haven't done it. Maybe..some day. Do you have an electric pressure cooker, either instapot or some other brand?

I won’t tell my dad what you’re making because he’d be on the way to your house just for that!
I don’t have an Instapot myself. Is that something I should request for Christmas when my dad asks me what to buy me? He always says I pick cheap stuff like a Golden Girls calendar. If it’s expensive he and my sister and brother-in-law usually go in together on it.

It depends on how much cooking you do really, which I gather isn't a lot. I don't think are as popular as they once were though so may have come down in price.

Amber, I don't have an air fryer, but I think you would love one...you seem to like crunchy stuff, etc. I could be wrong.

i love bean soup how do you make it? do you also add meat to it? Bosnians like to add dried meat, but i just like regular beans.
i had old fashioned pressure cooker at home and my husband happen to have electric pressure cooker. i never use it though. i make beans in regular pot, they turn out pretty good. with soaking overnight

@sallypup I am thinking of buying some spatchulas today..as the one I used to always use seems to be missing .Lots of turners though. I have like 4 of them! I don't need any more than two.

@snowy22315 Now you have me looking. There's a ceramic cooky jar filled with dried fruits, a jar that has corn meal in it, another can of fruit and nuts, a rack of rolling pins, a crock filled with stuff like spatulas and pancakes turners and scissors. My cupboards are pretty full and once I don't see something I might not be able to find it. Okay. Today I will try to put some things away. Thanks.

We have an electric pressure cooker. I bought it for my husband to make his favorite pot roast; but he's never used it. Have a good day. P. S. I love bean soup. When is dinner? lololol

Me too! I will save a serving for you! Maybe you could get second cousin to whip a roast in it sometime.

@LindaOHio I was cleaning in the pantry the other day. So much flour, and I hardly ever use it. I think I may make pumpkin spice cookies this weekend. They are only 35 calories per.

I don't have an Instapot. I make bean soup and such in my crock pot most of the time, it makes the beans so tender and doesn't require constant watching like the stovetop does.

@MarieCoyle Yes, flexible it certainly is...you can put the instapot on low too though.

I love the freedom of it. Not ready to eat yet? Turn it down and eat when you want to. No oven timer, etc.

I have a crockpot and an instapot. I mostly use the crockpot and my son prefers using the instapot.

I have both too.I feel safer with the crockpot though. I have only used the pot a few times.I always think I am doing something wrong.

@snowy22315 It is definitely not as easy as a crockpot.

@snowy22315 Good to hear that! I only live in a small apartment which is why I decided not to own many appliances.
