Wheee! My guitars are ready to be picked up. / myLot

I learned yesterday that my Collings OM-1 and Martin D-18 acoustic guitars are ready to be picked up at Wood Street Guitar Repair in Oakland California. The Collings is my gigging guitar, and had some fret wear. The Martin is my bluegrass jam guitar and had binding issues. The plastic strips between the sides and the back (and top) were coming unglued. Apparently that was an issue with Martin guitars from around 2010. I'll have to decide whether to pick them up this morning or wait until tomorrow. I don't teach today until 2 PM. How is your Wednesday shaping up? Today is my longest day at Guitar Center, but it's also my "funnest," with lots of kid students including my friend Alee, who has been with me for more than three years. Should I go today? Or wait until tomorrow?

Rain. Cold rain. None of that warm summer shower stuff. Isn't it a bit ironic to work at Guitar Center yet have to have your repair work done elsewhere? (Ah - just checked the company, they don't do repair work it seems)

We actually do have a repair guy. But it's mostly for minor stuff like set-ups and electrical pick-up repairs. I'll have to ask if they do binding. Wood Street is a licensed Martin repair facility, so my Martin binding work is free. The Collings fret job will cost a few hundred dollars.

It's actually a kid named Michael from the rehab where I worked. I became his "best buddy" when he was 13-months old, and worked with him until he was four.

It was a calm and sunny day, I hope you had a good time at the Guitar Center, I had a great day. Walmart reimbursed me the difference for what I paid for groceries and actually spent, I cancelled Amazon Prime and got that money back and another site netted me a $10 Amazon gift card, BINGO
