I Miss Those Days

There was a time when my town was very small. At night I used to sleep on a cot beside my father's under a huge neem tree just in front of my house. We could hardly see a car or a jeep running along the road at a Stone's throw from my house. Our town was very peaceful then. Now it has grown into a industrial hub. Many aluminum and electric plants have popped up.Now the air is not as pure as it used to be in gone by days. Now I miss the star studded sky that we used to see those days.My father used to tell me about our culture;our martyred and stories from the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Those days are history now. I now miss the bullock carts running on the roads;the starry nights and the cool;refreshing breeze we were able to breath in;the bullock carts and all that.I don't remember when was the the time I saw a wonderful;green sky. Sometimes I feel nostalgic. But time passes and everything is changed.I have to adjust with it.And you know it is not that easy.

It certainly is hard to adjust when the changes aren’t all good.

I agree.People who have grown up in a healthy and naturally beautiful atmosphere are now failing to adjust themselves with the so called developed cities.

Yes.Anti social activities also became rampant there.Such places lost their peace.

@rakski If now we sleep outside our home;we can do so at our own risk.

After city life we shifted to a semi rural setting where we have modern facilities but less traffic, less sky rise buildings and less people.

I love living in such a place. In fact;I like to live in a village near a jungle. To me it becomes very difficult to adjust myself with the fast growing industrial hubs.

I was born when my town was small.I was brought up and enjoyed the atmosphere in a very small town.So when everything is changed;it is but natural to feel nostalgic.
