A dream that is not understood is like a letter that is not opened. ---------An early Talmudic saying That's just one of the many reasons I don't study the Talmud. I just don't need its' know-it-all "Always blame the victim" attitude. Especially today. Yeah, I had a dream last night that I don't understand at all. Much of it was occupied with searching for a certain restaurant in Beverley Hills that we never found. What we did find was the NBC Commissary. Yep. The fine dining mecca in Beautiful Downtown Burbank that Johnny raved about in countless monologues for thirty years. I no longer play the world's most beloved restaurant critic on TV but I still feel qualified to say, "Johnny was right! It was lousy!" I ordered the oven-baked chicken because it felt safe since even many school cafeterias do a decently edible job with it. The Commissary could have done a better job with it. Adjectives like terrible and awful fail to adequately describe it. But it was better than what you ordered, the Seafood Platter. It came with a flashing neon sign, "The State Of California Has Determined That Ye Who Eat This Should Abandon All Hope. Ignore at Your Own Peril And May God Have Mercy On Your Bathroom." The ending was happy enough. You heeded the warning, we stopped at Burger King on the way home and your bathroom remained pristine. But I still have no idea what it means. This letter is still unopened. And, thus far, no Talmudic Scholars have even offered to help.
