A woman who lives in Richland County in South Carolina was in shock to see a ball phyton behind a toilet on Tuesday morning. The bathroom of the woman who lives at the Rice Terrace Apartments and Townhomes first asked a friend for help before she contacted the Richland County Sheriff's Department to remove the snake from her home inside of the apartment. Deputy Shannon Huffman who is a member of the Community Action Team who has experience dealing with exotic animals was able to remove the snake from the flooded bathroom by placing the snake in a pillowcase and taking the snake to police headquarters with one of the deputies until the owner of the snake will come to reunite with his or her pet. The police are not releasing details how the snake may have caused the flood since they believe that the snake may have gotten loose from another tenant inside of the apartment. I really don’t think non native snakes should be legal as pets. They can get out and multiple like the invasive Burmese pythons in Florida.

I personally don't understand why someone would want a snake like that for a pet!!!

@xstitcher Neither do I since snakes can kill their owners.

I am in agreement with you about snakes being pets to owners.

Some people in America do have snakes as pets which is odd.

That would have woken me up. That's great that they didn't harm the critter.

A snake in a toilet is frightening. My mother, as a young girl, experienced that, when she was on the outdoor toilet, at her country home, and reached down towards the toilet paper roll on the concrete floor next to her. She nearly touched a large snake curled up around the roll, and she was so scared, that she bolted off of the seat, with her pants still around her ankles, and out of that toilet, pronto.

Good thing he wasn't a really big python. I'm glad he will be returned to his owner; but why people have snakes I will never know..
