The other night I came across this dear old movie. It was one of the Mr. Belvedere movies. I saw two and didn't realize it was a trilogy. Setting Pretty, Mr. Belvedere Goes to College and Mr. Belvedere Rings the Bell. There was also a TV series from 1985 to 1990.
In each, he plays this highly educated, self-righteous, fastidious, and condescending rascal who comes into a situation and teaches the people so much. In this one, he plays a 40+ author who overhears some old folks in a park talking about their sad existence. He takes on the persona of a 70-year-old man and goes to the run-down old folk's home where these folks are living. He starts preaching about how to think and feel younger. He makes up a placebo and gives it to them. They believe they are all ten years younger. They begin planning a big festival there at home. But it all falls apart when some news people get the story and come there for an interview. It is a great movie.
Clifton Webb, who plays the character of Mr. Belvedere is a great actor. He was born Webb Parmelee Hollenbeck (November 19, 1889 – October 13, 1966) and was an American actor, singer and dancer. He is hands down one of my favorite actors. His hoity-toity and self-righteous manner are funny in a dear way. I enjoy any character he portrays.

Thank you for sharing the review of the movie. I know the saying "You are as young as you feel."

That was pretty much what he was trying to convey.

I remember that movie. I use to love Mr. Belvidere. Don't make them like that anymore. Thanks for the memory.
