When I was in Primary School I overheard the teachers talking about the cookie shortage. The school only got half of what it ordered. What to do? The teachers decided to start a rumor that the cookies were 'stale'. They'd 'privately' mention it to each other in front of the gossip kids. By 'cookie' time, many kids rejected the cookies, and I was asked to take the leftovers to another class, in case they wanted them. At the end of the day the fact that there was a shortage was unknown. I've seen and heard this kind of deception a lot in my life, and what I usually do is take two 'cookies'.

@rakski my school used to order tins of cookies. each day we got one with our box milk. then there was some shortage and instead of like 24 tins we got like 12 or something. I know I ate two... cause they weren't stale at all

had to get the kids to refuse the cookies, so having been teachers for a time, knew how to play

what could they do? tell the kids they can't have a cookie? No. Get the kids to turn down the cookie.

@aureategloom as an eavesdropper... the argument was that they ordered how much and only got half.

that was the first time I saw it used. But it is constantly being rebooted. Country has 2 Million people. Covid hits. Get 'influencers' to say it is a hoax. County imports 200k vaccines, Saves money and gets rid of sheep.
