Visit to New Orleans

Last year, my husband and I spent a few days in New Orleans. We went to the Southern Baptist Convention as representatives from our church. Most of our time was spent in meetings, but we did get to do a little site seeing. The place was so rich in history. I wanted to do more site seeing but my husband was wary of that. I guess he was right to be cautious. One morning when we came out of our hotel, every window of every truck in our parking lot had been smashed. The homesless situation was saddening, sickening, and heartbreaking. I couldn't help but think about what an amazing city it would be if crime and trashiness had not been allowed to take root. I am still hoping that one day, the city will be a safe place to tour.

I’m blessed because I haven’t had any problems while in New Orleans. There’s trouble in every big city, though.

That is really sad that it is not safe at all. There seems to be homeless everywhere.
