11/15/24 - Update On My Husband

Signed up with Medical Guardian yesterday. I paid for a whole year; so the monthly charge will be $48.53. I should get all the pendants, etc. in about a week.
I don't remember if I told you that my husband called at 4:30 am the other night. Unfortunately I was not by the phone; and when I called him back, he didn't answer. I think it was something connected with the sundowners.
I tried calling him again yesterday...no answer. So I called the nurses' station...no answer. I haven't talked to him all week. On Sunday when we visit I will make sure his phone is set to ring and not just vibrate.
The list that the woman who handles nursing home/rehab referrals hasn't yielded any good places except for one that is too far away. I think my husband is going to have to go back to the old place.
The huge packet of information, disk, etc. was sent on November 4 for the appeal via USPS. It still has not reached its destination. We only have until the 28th.

I am glad you signed up with the Medical Guardian, that will be a good safety measure for you. I can't believe Life Alert has hiked the price up so high. That's just ridiculous.
If you are trying to call him during the day, and not getting anyone at the nurse's station, is there a main number for the facility? If there is and you call and get a live body to answer, tell them you must talk to someone ASAP and you will hold. Then you can get someone to either tell you what's going on with him, or hook you up to talk to him, or something. This is not good...he may not be well enough to talk to you, but it would be nice to talk to someone at the nurse's station to get some information, etc. This is just not acceptable. I am so sorry.
