Good morning, friends. Devil is now disguised as Dixie.

I just had a message from Dixie. She is helping one of her nieces to sell big cherries (the export kind). I´m sure that they are expensive although it says that shipping is included. But if shipping is included, I bet the amount sold is high. And in this moment I´m a pauper. What can I do?

It’s ok to say, no I can’t right now. Tell her you are trying to empty your freezer, or that you haven’t felt well (truth) and that’s it. You should be able to tell your dearest friend the truth and she will understand.

I told Dixie. I love cherries but only fresh ones. And they sell it in 5 kilo amounts (around 10 pounds). I do not like cherry jam. If they were seling apricot, I´d buy it. I love apricot jam.

@MarieCoyle I´m not even too fond of cherry jam. If someone sold apricots, I´d be happy with 10 pounds.

@marguicha Ten pounds of cherries is a LOT of cherries. I would have had to say no, too.

Dixie is now going on a crazy sailing trip. If she wasn´t, we could buy one amount and share between us two.

I will suppose you will do without, or will find a small amount somewhere to enjoy, but not ten pounds.

Exactly. That´s what I did last year. Anita bought some for me near where she lives. But 10 pounds would just rot.

Why not say you are not interested?

I did. And I think that she told me about the cherries because I might know someone who did. But I don´t.

No. The amount sold is 5 kilos. And I only like fresh cherries so I would not need that amount. But if Dixie was here (she is going sailing this week) we could share and think of other ways to use them.

@rakski I don´t have the money and I don´t have the need. If they were apricots, I´d sell Luna. I could turn them into jam and even make some with no sugar ffor Dixie while she is sailing.

@sallypup I think that we are both happy that we have each other. She lost all her siblings.

She owes me what? I owe her for life with all that she has done for me along the years.

I'm sure it's okay to say no. Dixie must be aware of your circumstances.
