Good lazy afternoon.

Well, safe to say I almost slept the morning away. I woke in time to make sure George got his meds on time. I got a little push back about flushing his tube, but I got it flushed at least. I also have a shake in the fridge and got him working on his first one. He apparently had a rough night after trying to go to bed around three A.M. That could be part of why he got cranky and gave me pushback. I don't care if we have to sometimes fight, so long as I get what I need done.

You managed George’s meds and shake despite pushback; tough night explains crankiness. Persistence gets things done. Good job friend!

Does medical insurance not cover any sort of in home healthcare for him?

If he needed it, they would. But he's not considered disabled. Plus a medical provider might not have the patience to put up with him, when he says 'no'. Or whines because the tube needs to be flushed. They would just do it, and to hell with how he's feeling.
I make sure those things get done, but I give him as much control as I possibly can. I let him control where his tube goes. I let him decide if he wants me to do something, or he does it himself. He'll often make sure I stay on top of things like he used to do before his stroke. So, the VA wouldn't. And, frankly George and I don't like strangers in our home.
We did have in-home health for about a month when he first came home from the hospital, but that was more just to transion from the hospital home. They were there like a couple times a week for like an hour. depending on what it was.

@thislittlepennyearns If we needed it, we'd deffently look into it. But, I basically make sure he takes a pill twice a day. I flush his tube acouple times a day, too because he's chosen to drink the shakes orally rather than me putting them down the tube. Every now and again, he might whine or growl at me when I suggest getting something like that done. And, I don't see where help would benifit me in that instance. As long as I put something on the t.v. for him, I've got time to do all the other things I need to do around the house.

@kaylachan I understand your concerns, but it might be good to have some help every one in awhile.
