Because of course they are. They HAVE to. At least some of them have some potentially serious issues in their backgrounds and lives.
Former representative Matt Gaetz has been chosen for US Attorney General. He resigned from the House literally immediately after Trump made the announcement in order to prevent the release of the House Ethics Committee's report on him. He was investigated for sex trafficking, sleeping with a minor, and illegal drug use. An FBI background investigation would come up with anything that the ethics committee did and likely more.
Former representative Tulsi Gabbard has been chosen for Director of National Intelligence. She has repeatedly been accused of being a Russian asset due to her parroting of the country's talking points and support for them in their war against Ukraine.
I don't know. . . it seems to me that your choices for the head of the Department of Justice and national intelligence aren't ideal if they can't pass an FBI investigation into their backgrounds.

Did you hear that Pence has a problem with RFK Jr.'s appointment? Have a good weekend.
