When I just got married I followed every recipe to the 't' I got myself a set of measuring spoons and also a measuring glass that helped me the quantity to be added to recipes.
Much water has now flown under the birdge and I no longer use those measuring gadgets. I just put a bit of othis and a bit of that. My cooking turns out perfect.
All I can say is practice makes it perfect.
